The Carroll Manor Fitness Program offers a variety of classes. Registration forms are available on this website to print and mail. Everyone will be expected to sign in upon arriving at class.

Class Descriptions

Aerobics

An energized hi/lo aerobics class that conditions your cardiovascular system and improves coordination and balance. This class is an easy-to-follow aerobic and toning workout. Classes feature a 30 minute muscle conditioning segment using resistance tubes, bands, balls, and weights to tone the different muscle groups. There is a 30- minute calorie-burning aerobic workout and cool down segment followed by stretching exercises to make the most of your exercise routine. Bring a mat and water bottle.

Strength Training

When properly performed, strength training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being, including increased bone, muscle, tendon, ligament strength and toughness. Strength training improves joint function, reduces injuries, increases bone density, produces a temporary increase in metabolism, improves cardiac function, and elevates HDL (good) cholesterol. Use of weights, balls, resistant tubes and bands Bring a water bottle and mat.

Pilates

Pilates works towards conditioning the entire body. Pilates focus is on developing the core strength inside the body and elongating the spine. This form of exercise enhances strength and increases awareness on proper posture.

Candlelight Yoga

A slow to medium paced class with advanced options performed in a candlelit room with soft music. Emphasis on breathing, strength, balance and flexibility. Yoga relieves stress and improves concentration. Class ends with 10 min of guided mediation and relaxation.

Yoga

We will explore gentle peaceful yoga postures to somewhat physically challenging poses. Yoga promotes flexibility, relieves stress, reduces weight, and improves balance and concentration. Emphasis is on the core muscles. Improve your posture, lengthen your muscles, increase your range of motion, relax and de-stress. This class is designed for adults of all ages and fitness levels. If you ever wanted to try Yoga in a non-threatening environment, this is it! Join us and feel better! Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket and water.

Notes **Classes are only available at a discount as a part of the Fitness Program
* There is a drop-in fee for Yoga and Pilates of $10 per class. The drop in fee for aerobics and Zumba is $5. These fees apply if you are not signed up for the session

Cancellation Policy
  • Whenever schools are closed for the entire day for inclement weather (snow, heat, hurricane, etc.) then all fitness classes are canceled.
  • If Baltimore County Schools open 1 or 2 hours late due to inclement weather, all morning classes will be canceled. Evening classes will be held as usual.
  • When schools close early for inclement weather, evening classes will be canceled (regardless of weather improvement).
  • If schools do not close early, but ANY PHASE of the snow emergency plan goes into effect at any time, then evening classes are canceled.
  • Jacksonville Elementary School is located in the Hereford Zone of Baltimore County. If the Hereford Zone opens late, closes early, or is closed for the day, classes held at Jacksonville Elementary School will be canceled. No other class locations are affected by the Hereford Zone closing.
  • When schools are closed for holidays or vacations, then all evening fitness classes are generally canceled. The instructor will announce any exception in class. Check monthly calendars for updates.
  • Cancellations or relocation of a class are sometimes required due to school sponsored activities. Instructors will announce these changes as they are identified. Check monthly calendars for updates.
